NOTE: Sculpture firing will cost more because sculptures must be fired more slowly and over a longer period of time. We will not fire damp work! It must be dry and hollow.
* Due to the nature of clay and the variability of construction methods of individual artists, we cannot possibly guarantee a perfect firing. Things made of clay are fragile, and they break. We cannot refund money if you are not satisfied with the end results.
*** We do not fire daily. Studio members and students use the kiln and dates vary. Please allow at least a week for your firing to be completed. If you wish to reserve an entire kiln, you need to pay in advance to reserve the kiln for a specific date.
If you fire low fire work that has glaze on the bottoms, you will need to bring your own stilts, and load the kiln yourself.
If your work drips glazes onto our shelves, there will be a $5 charge for each drip!
We have to scrape the shelves clean and re-apply kiln wash coating every time glaze drips!
Studio Use /Firing Fees
Daily or hourly use may be scheduled in advance at $10 an hour.
Users must be experienced and bring their own tools and wear boards, plastic etc. Work must be taken home as we do not have room to store work in progress by non-members.
