Intro to Handbuilding

In this relaxed class environment, students will enjoy an introduction to hand building with clay.

Topics covered include:

  • Studio: layout, safety, tools, equipment & cleaning

  • Building: Pinch, coil, soft slab & surface decoration

  • Glazing: Techniques for brushing & dipping

The class fee covers all the materials needed, including the clay, glaze, cost of firings, as well as the use of studio tools & equipment. Additional clay and/or personal tools can be purchased separately, but are not required.

This class is a prerequisite to being considered for membership to the Get Centered Clay Studio.

Class Fee: $275*
